Want to get back into moving safely without having to find childcare for your baby?
Then join me for my weekly Mums and Babies Yoga and Movement class at Akasha Wellness, Wickham Hall, Bishop’s Stortford. We’ll work on getting you moving, reconnecting to the core and pelvic floor and building strength for life with a baby.
Suitable for mums who are at least 6 weeks post birth and have been cleared to return to exercise by their doctor. I recommend waiting longer for women who have had a caesarean section, ideally 12 weeks. Please get in touch by email [email protected], if you’d like to discuss your readiness to join the class.
Babies until crawling are welcome. Please bring along a blanket and any toys for them. The class will be relaxed and easy-going so you can drop out and in as and when you need to attend to your baby.

Frequently asked questions
Do the babies get involved?
This is a class for mums that you can bring your baby along to. It’s very much focused on mum, but I will always try to give ideas of ways that you can keep moving if your baby doesn’t want to be put down on the blanket. You tend to your baby as needed. I am also happy to help out holding babies where I can, so that mum can continue exercising.
What if my baby starts crawling during my block?
There is no problem to stay until the end of your block.
What happens if I have to miss a class?
Unfortunately, due to my costs being the same, it is not possible to refund you for a missed class. If I cancel a class you will be refunded pro rata for that class.
I am leaking pee (or poo), I have diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, a painful back/shoulders/knees (anything really) can I join this class and will it help?
My training is very rehab based and I know what movements are lacking from most people’s daily movement diets. I also know what is missing for many post-natal mums, however, they gave birth. I make sure the moves we do in class will help with all of these issues as well as building general strength and flexibility and reducing pain. It is not possible to give completely 1-2-1 attention in a group class, but you are always welcome to tell me anything that you are worried about (and indeed I hope you use the questions on the intake form to let me know as well as speaking to me before or after class). I encourage everyone to listen to their bodies to understand what is a no and what is a yes.
